Abstract
Decision making processes in Family firms cannot be understood only attending rational processes and maturity models. Socio-emotional factors influence the DMP of all kind of enterprises, but in the case of family business they play a crucial role. Socioemotional wealth of family members and agents that surround them must be taken into account. This is specially truth in the moments of leadership change in the family companies. Aspects such as family values, control of the company, employment of family members, need of belonging, preservation of social capital, family heritage conservation, family lifestyle, among others are the basis that serve to make decisions. In this work we want to see how the Socio-emotional approach to DMP in family firms can complement the rational approach to DMP based in maturity models.

The energy transition is at a crucial point. Is it time to redefine the consensuses reached in the past? Can long-term agreements avoid conflicts in the short term? It seems, as we have reached the second decade of the 21st century, that the cartographic models that guided the energy transition have become obsolete. The author proposes to approach an analysis based more on observation than on preconceived doctrines and models. We are in a confusing moment. It can be stated that “no one can reverse the energy transition” or that this is the last opportunity to “drive the energy transition” threatened by a clash between renewable energies and energy monopolies. We live in a moment of strong frustration. An energetic and passionate narrative style pours out on us. Duels between egos and moments of confusion appear. The energy transition is entangled with the geopolitics that are stopping it. New challenges and old fantasies appear. Suddenly nuclear energy, gas, renewable fuels, hydrogen enter the political agenda.
