Abstract

The much-awaited version 1.0 of Scipedia is now live, and you can enjoy numerous new features. In addition to the new look of our home page, you can find an improved search engine with filtering by categories and attributes to customize your search results to find exactly what you want. This release also includes a new version of the LaTeX and Word import utility which fixes many of the limitations detected in previous versions. You can also enjoy a brand-new wikitext editor with syntax highlighting and a renovated toolbar. Furthermore, Scipedia now provides enhanced functionality for journal management, peer-review and publishing. We hope you will enjoy the new Scipedia. And we would like to hear your feedback on the new tools and suggestions for future features.

Abstract

We are pleased to announce the beta release of the Scipedia's Google Docs add-on. It allows to create your documents using this well-known online collaborative editor and upload them directly to Scipedia.

You can install the new tool from the Add-ons menu of any Google Docs document.

Scipedia is an innovative Open Science and Research Publishing Platform. Scipedia aims to connect researchers and professionals in science and technology and facilitate the sharing of knowledge, expertise and the outcome of their work.

Scipedia.com was born to offer a complete solution for open science, and essentially integrates three solutions:

• An online scientific editorial platform for journals and data repositories.
• A web publishing system and online edition of collaborative scientific documents.
• A collaborative social network focused on scientists and professionals in science and technology.

This presentation introduces the solutions offered by Scipedia for the needs of open science projects, and the advantages of the platform for researchers, institutions and scientific journals.

This presentation was held on 5th July, 2018 at the VII Session of the Virtual Program on Open Science and Research Data Management  (VII Sesión del Programa Virtual sobre Ciencia Abierta y Gestión de Datos de Investigación) organized by Columbus Foundation.

The presentation shows different activities of the International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE) in the field of Open Science, and in particular it presents the innovative Open Science platform Scipedia.com.
