research experience

  • Assistant Research Professor Marine department International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (Barcelona - Spain)

    Started: 2019-01-07 - Currently working.

Princial developer of SeaFEM, a state of the art seakeeping software for analyzing floating structures subject to waves. Reserch on the finite element method applied to seakeeping problems in the time domain. Applications involving fluid-structure interaction, free surafce, structure interaction, coupled slohing-seakeeping problems, assestment of wave energy converters,...

Currently researching and developing a fully parallel semilagrangian algorithm to solve Navier-Stokes equations and Euler equations. The aim is to develope a new generation of solvers to cope with seakeeping problems in extreme conditions.

  • Ph.D. student Civil Engineering Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge - United States)

    Started: 2005-06-01 - Finished: 2008-12-015

Development of the lattice Boltzmann method for solving mass transport equations in porous media. Special attention was paid to the stability and accuracy of the method. The method was applied to saltwater intrusion problems for demonstration purposes.
