Se calculó la intensidad JMA para todos los eventos importantes que el Laboratorio de Ingeniería Sísmica (LIS) ha registrado desde 1990.  Primero se realizó una preselección de la información tomando los eventos que habían sido registrados en más de 5 sitios. Luego se graficó cada uno para hacer una inspección visual y descartar aquellos que pudieran tener un nivel de ruido alto o cuya forma de onda no fuera de buena calidad. A cada componente de los registros de aceleración se le aplicó un filtro en el dominio de las frecuencias, posteriormente en el dominio del tiempo se calculó la suma vectorial de cada registro y se ordenaron los datos de amplitud en orden descendiente. Se tomó el valor de amplitud al instante 0,3s para calcular la intensidad instrumental. Los resultados se muestran en forma de gráficos que relacionan el valor de JMA con la aceleración máxima y en forma de mapas que muestran la distribución espacial de intensidades.

The JMA intensity was calculated for all the important events that the Earthquake Engineering Laboratory (LIS) has recorded since 1990. First, a pre-selection was made taking into account only events that had been recorded in more than 5 sites. Every record was plotted and revised by visual inspection in order to rule out those with high noise level or poor waveform quality. A frequency domain filter was applied to each component, then in the time domain the vectorial summation was computed and data was sorted out in descending order. The amplitude at which the cummulative amplitude reached a value of 0,3s was taken to compute the JMA intensity. The results are shown in the form of graphs that relate the value of JMA to the maximum acceleration and in the form of maps showing the spatial distribution of intensities.
