Abstract

This paper reviews Trans Mountain’s recent experience with the installation of main line pumping units ranging in size from 670 to 1900 kw (500 to 2500 Hp). This includes a review of vibration problems encountered due to a structural resonance, how this problem was resolved and its impact on subsequent baseplate designs and their associated installation techniques.Copyright © 1998 by ASME
