Abstract

In this paper, a three dimensional computational model for the nonlinear transient dynamic analysis of reinforced concrete structures is presented. The model considers the discretization in the time domain of the equation of equilibrium (direct integration), the spatial discretization (isoparametric solid elements with reinforcement), and a constitutive model which includes cracking in tensión, viscoplasticity and crushing in compression, strain-rate sensitivity and strength degradation due to accumulated damage.
