Jianhua Wu, male, born in Sept. 9, 1956 in Jinxian County of Jiangxi Province, China, was graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 1982 and got a Bachelor's degree in information engineering. In 1985, he graduated from South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China, and got a Master's degree of science majoring in communication and electronic systems, under the supervision of Professor Jingzheng Ouyang. In 2005, he got the Ph.D. from the University of Poitiers, Poitiers, France, majoring in image and signal processing, under the supervision of Professor Christian Olivier. He is a member of IEEE.
He is a professor with the Department of Electronic Information Engineering, Nanchang University, China. The courses he taught include digital signal processing, digital image processing, etc. His research interests include artificial intelligence, image processing, image encryption, pattern recognition, power quality disturbances detection & classification, etc. He has published more than twenty papers in journals such as Applied Soft Computing, Optics Communications, Optics and Laser Technology, Journal of Modern Optics. He is a peer referee of several international journals like IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, Pattern Recognition, Applied Soft Computing, Journal of Electronic Imaging, Optics Communications, IETE Technical Review. He has won the first-prize of Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Award once and the second-prize of Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award once. As the applicant, he has received two grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Since 1996, Wu has been a supervisor of master candidates in Signal and Information Processing. Since 2012, he has been a supervisor of doctoral candidates in Signal and Image processing, and Mechatronics. He has now nine doctoral and near 100 master students graduated, including four Ph.D. in the joint training program with the University of Poitiers, France.
