AlonsoToro is a Systems and Telecommunications Engineer from the Catholic University of Pereira (Colombia). He holds a Master's degree in Software Project Management and Development from the Universidad Autónoma de Manizales (Colombia) and a Ph.D. in Big Data Management from the University of Salerno (Italy). Currently, he works as a full-time Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Basic Sciences and Engineering of the Catholic University of Pereira and is an Associate Researcher of the research group "Between Science and Engineering" of the same institution. His main areas of research include software engineering, software quality assurance (SQA), automated testing, Big Data and Industry 4.0 technologies, with a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Cyber-physical Systems (CPS).
