The geomaterial is a complicated natural geological body whose mechanical properties and internal structure are very complex. And most of the mechanical problems for the geomaterials are the coupling of multiple fields and multiple phases. The unsafety of geomaterials will bring serious engineering disasters, such as landslides and surface subsidence, which can not be solved well by the traditional methods, including the theoretical method, numerical method, and experimental method. To study the geomaterials, with the development of artificial intelligence (AI), the application of AI methods has become widespread, and it has become a hot research topic currently. The present Special Issue is intended for the presentation of new applications of AI methods in the field of geomaterials. The interest includes, but is not limited to, the applications of AI methods for rock, soil, and other geomaterials, as well as the applications of AI methods in geomechanics, etc.
This Special Issue will publish high-quality, original research papers in the overlapping fields of:
- Applications of artificial neural networks;
- Applications of deep learning methods;
- Applications of swarm intelligence;
- Applications of Evolutionary Algorithms;
- Applications of big data analysis;
- Applications of biological computation;
- Applications of nature-inspired computation;
- Applications of support vector machine, support vector regression, etc..
Others.
