Deadline Date: 31 March 2027
Modern engineering challenges demand increasingly sophisticated numerical tools to model complex, multi-scale, and multi-physical phenomena. Computational simulation has evolved from a validation tool into a driving force for design, optimization, and technological innovation across industrial and academic sectors.
This Special Issue of RIMNI focuses on the latest breakthroughs and state-of-the-art developments in computational methods and numerical algorithms. The main objective is to provide an open-access platform to disseminate novel mathematical formulations, robust simulation techniques, and high-impact engineering applications.
To ensure the highest scientific quality, this Special Issue consists exclusively of works selected by invitation. The peer-reviewed papers compiled in this volume represent part of the most outstanding and high-impact research presented at CILAMCE 2026 in Bogotá, Colombia. Following a rigorous selection process by the scientific committee, the authors of these top-rated contributions were invited to submit their conference works.
We invite the reader to explore these selected contributions, which include original research papers, case studies, and comprehensive review articles on topics that include, but are not limited to:
* Advanced finite element methods (FEM) and solid mechanics
* Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and transport phenomena
* Physics-informed neural networks (PINNs) and scientific machine learning
* Quantum computing
* Structural optimization, inverse problems, and multi-scale modelling
* High-performance computing (HPC) applied to engineering design
