Abstract

This article analyzes the image of the Divine Farmer (represented as the sower, the farm manager or the pater familias) and other figures who assume the role of farmers that are at service of the first one (the «obreros del Señor» or «jornaleros de la vida») in four allegorical plays of Calderón: La semilla y la cizaña, La siembra del Señor, La viña del Señor and El día mayor de los días.
