Abstract

Este trabalho visa identificar, a partir de um levantamento de dados dos fluxos de cargas conteinerizadas e custos operacionais de transporte, os locais mais promissores para a instalação de futuros terminais intermodais de carga rodo-ferroviários, com auxílio de um Sistema de Informações Geográficas (TransCAD), objetivando a redução dos custos e otimização das operações logísticas envolvidas na rede de transportes do estado de São Paulo. Simulações são feitas para a instalação de até dez terminais intermodais rodo-ferroviários em pontos estratégicos do interior do Estado, considerando-se duas condições: a primeira com um terminal existente só em Santos e todos os pontos candidatos escolhidos pelo modelo de localização das p-medianas do TransCAD e, a segunda, considerando-se, além de Santos, os oito terminais intermodais já existentes no Estado. Apresenta-se uma análise dos custos de rede e os mapas temáticos de áreas de influência de cada uma das soluções obtidas pelo modelo. Os resultados são comparados com o trabalho de TONDO (1992). Conclui-se que as soluções encontradas através de um novo enfoque de modelagem do problema, são significativamente diferentes daqueles propostos por TONDO (1992). Based on a data collection of containerized cargo flows and operational transport costs, this study has the objective of identifying promising points to install future road-rail intermodal container terminals, using a Geographic Information System (TransCAD) and the objective function of reducing costs and optimising logistic operations on the transport network of the state of São Paulo. Simulations are presented for the instalation of up to ten road-rail intermodal terminals at strategic locations in the interior of the State, considering two conditions: the first one, with only one terminal placed at the port of Santos and all the candidate points beeing chosen by the p-median location model of TransCAD, and the second one, considering Santos and the other eight existing intermodal terminals in the State. An analysis of the network costs and thematic maps of the influence areas of each solution are presented. The results are compared with the study by TONDO (1992). It is concluded that the solutions obtained by this new modeling focus of the problem, are considerably different from the ones obtained by TONDO (1992).

Abstract

In order to make better assessment of intermodal container transportation, the authors have analyzed DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) method in deciding the most favorable container line from Serbian ports to the near East ports. To allow for applications to a wide variety of activities, term organization unit (Decision Making Unit – DMU) refers to container line. DEA Method has been used to give the estimation of efficiency of operations in organization units. Organization units are container lines in which containers are loaded with mineral water in bottles. The main points in transportation net are factories of mineral water (Knjaz Milos Arandjelovac and Minaqua Novi Sad), Serbian ports ( the Port of Belgrade, the Port of Danube Pancevo and the Port of Prahovo) and nine Mediterranean ports in the near East area. Amount of mineral water that is dispatching from factories to Serbian ports is equal to amount that can be loaded to one container. Having containerized in Serbian ports mineral water is reloaded to the river–sea ships with unified dimensions, so the ships are continuing to travel to the near East ports. The near East ports are the ending points. Input variables in DEA problem are transportation costs and strategy resistance factor in function of container line. Time traveling of one container is in a function of container line and transportation capabilities of container lines are output variables. Abstract

In a time span of twenty years, container transport by barge has acquired a significant share in the hinterland modal split for containers of the load centres Rotterdam and Antwerp. In other European load centres, barge container transport as yet plays a modest role, but the interest in the barge option is growing. The growth in container volumes by barge and the increase of the number of seaports and inland terminals involved go hand in hand with fundamental spatial developments in the European inland terminal network.This paper addresses the organisational changes in the European barging industry that have taken place in the last twenty years and its impact on the spatial dynamics in the European container barge network. The paper analyses structural changes in liner service schedules by barge and the changing functional interdependencies between inland terminals in the network and organizational changes in the industry. The paper will conclude by discussing future perspectives for the spatial development of the barging network. Depuis les vingt dernières années, le transport conteneurisé par barges a connu une augmentation de part modale significative, des centres logistiques de Rotterdam et Anvers vers leurs arrière-pays. Malgré un intérêt croissant, la part du transport conteneurisé par barge demeure modeste dans les autres centres logistiques européens. L’augmentation du volume conteneurisé transporté par barges, ainsi que le nombre croissant de ports et terminaux intérieurs vont de pair avec les transformations spatiales fondamentales du réseau portuaire intérieur européen. Cet article aborde les changements organisationnels qui ont cours depuis les vingt dernières années dans l’industrie du transport conteneurisé par barges et leurs impacts sur les dynamiques spatiales dans les réseaux maritimes intérieurs européens. L’article analyse les changements structuraux dans les horaires des transporteurs par barges ainsi que les interdépendances fonctionnelles entre les réseaux de terminaux intérieurs européens et les changements organisationnels de l’industrie maritime. L’article conclut par une discussion sur les perspectives futures du développement spatial du réseau de transport maritime intérieur européen par barges.
