About me

Oriol Amatis a professor of financial economics and accounting at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, a position he has held since 2001.

He has made contributions across five key areas: research, knowledge transfer, education, university management, and community engagement. His research has focused primarily on the detection of accounting frauds and the key success factors for businesses, with publications in esteemed journals like the Journal of Business Ethics and the European Accounting Review. He has also authored numerous professional articles and books in various languages, contributing substantially to the dissemination of knowledge.

In university administration, Amat has held numerous leadership roles, including rector of Pompeu Fabra University, dean of the UPF Barcelona School of Management, and director of the department of economics and business. He pioneered in Spain a professorial promotion path based on knowledge transfer, leading significant transformations that earned international accreditations for the management school.

Additionally, he cofounded the Catalan Association of Accounting, further showcasing his influence in the economic and educational landscapes.
