About me

Héctor Saldaña Márquez is a Doctor from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, graduated from the Architecture, Building and Urbanism Technology program, Master in Architecture and New Urbanism from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, and Civil Engineer from the Technological Institute of Sonora. He belongs to the Mexican National System of Researchers, with the distinction of Level 1. He has various publications in high-impact scientific journals and has multiple collaborations as a reviewer. His research addresses topics such as evaluating sustainability in the human habitat; the housing-city nexus; sustainable urban mobility and connectivity; and Social participation in urban planning processes. He has participated in different congresses in countries such as Portugal, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Mexico. In the construction area, he has experience in the private sector in civil works management, design and coordination of real estate developments (with an emphasis on social housing), and urban landscaping. He is currently a Research Professor at the University of Monterrey and coordinates the 3rd year Academy of the School of Architecture and Habitat Sciences. He has also taught at the Autonomous University of Sinaloa and the Autonomous University of Durango.
