Received a bachelor's degree (Hons.) from the Department of Computer Science, King Abdulaziz University, the M.I.T. degree in computer networks from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia, and the Ph.D. degree from the Clayton School of Information Technology, Monash University, Melbourne. He is currently the Dean of the College of Computing and Information Technology, at the University of Bisha, Saudi Arabia. His research interests include wireless sensor networks; cloud computing, edge computing, the IoT, and cyber security.
