== Resumen ==

Starting from the recent «global interpretations» of the calderonian sacramental autos given by two german scholars —the germanist Ansgar Hillach and the roman philologist Gerhard Poppenberg— we try to redefine the Sitz im Leben (the ‘literary-cultural function’) that genre had in Baroque Spain, described as «metaphysical peninsula» by Fernando Rodríguez de la Flor. It is also proposed seeing in the autos the attempt of an appropriation and a subordination of the nascent literary-profana culture of the Early Modern Age by the traditional theological culture, reinvigorated by the dynamic cultural tendencies of the Catholic Reformation.
