A més, es considera que aquestes accions no només tindran un benefici a nivell mediambiental, sinó que també tindran un efecte positiu en l’eficiència i en l´ús dels recursos que gestiona l'hospital.		Per tant, com a entitat promotora de la salut, l’hospital Clínic Barcelona té un ferm compromís per avançar en la gestió de la sostenibilitat ambiental i impulsa diferents iniciatives emmarcades en el Pla Estratègic de l’hospital per esdevenir un Clínic Verd. +En aquest àmbit s’han aconseguit millores en la segregació de residus de l’hospital, especialment pel que fa a la fracció destinada a reciclatge i s’han impulsat diferents iniciatives per promoure l’economia circular. Pel que fa a la gestió de materials, s’està treballant en un nou workflow que millorarà el control de les baixes dels equips, i la identificació d’aquells que es poden reutilitzar en altres serveis de l’hospital allargant la seva vida útil, el que suposarà un estalvi a nivell econòmic en la compra de nous equipaments, i també la possibilitat de tramitar la donació a tercers, que afavoreix l'economia circular.
