With ICT advances, more information on truck and freight position, safety, energy consumption, emissions is&amp;lt;br&amp;gt; available in the supply chain. Efficient management and integration of the increasing amount of data is a key&amp;lt;br&amp;gt; challenge in freight transport and logistics. This paper builds a framework for a unified single freight window,&amp;lt;br&amp;gt; integrating administrative and technical procedures. The window can serve as freight transport facilitator for&amp;lt;br&amp;gt; improved coordination of multimodal operations at transfer hubs by providing static and real-time digital&amp;lt;br&amp;gt; information on key characteristics, e.g. travel time, energy efficiency, GHG emissions. Its interface requirements&amp;lt;br&amp;gt; are to be standardized so that expansion into new processes is facilitated. A logic and services for the Safe and&amp;lt;br&amp;gt; Secure Truck Parking Area (SSTPA) component of unified window are also developed. The logic employs training&amp;lt;br&amp;gt; data from Egypt and Greece. The feasibility, capabilities, vulnerabilities and monitoring of SSTPA are tested in&amp;lt;br&amp;gt; project CROCODILE2. Test results reveal the positive effect of the new services on truck time and energy budgets.&lt;br /&gt;
