El efecto ROPO (research online, purchase offline), ventas offline influenciadas por la investigación online, constituye una práctica natural y habitual entre los consumidores digitales que no deja de aumentar, junto a su inversa, el showrooming. Las bibliotecas pueden beneficiarse de estas prácticas si son capaces de adecuar sus contenidos a lo que necesitan los usuarios, y ofrecérselos en los espacios web de las bibliotecas, según un diseño centrado en el usuario, mejorando así su experiencia. De esta forma, éste busca en internet lo que necesita, nos encuentra y valora, y después acude a los espacios físicos de la biblioteca a usar las colecciones y servicios.<br />
