== Resumen ==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Se realiza una crítica y una contracrítica o reafirmación del modelo de biblioteca como ágora o tercer lugar. El trabajo surge a raíz de un artículo publicado en Le monde diplomatique donde se censura este modelo. Se expone que el origen de las críticas tiene mucho que ver con el inadecuado desplazamiento del usuario tradicional en busca de una reafirmación o supervivencia de la biblioteca. En esto tiene especial incidencia el incremento de ruido en las bibliotecas que dificulta el estudio o la lectura concentrada, actividades consideradas intrínsecas a la misma. Frente a ello, se afirma que la biblioteca siempre ha sido un tercer lugar, pero que las nuevas concepciones que potencian esta realidad deben tener en cuenta la multiplicidad de usos para, precisamente, ser fieles al concepto.&lt;br /&gt;
