La tecnología blockchain está introduciéndose en todos los ámbitos y procedimientos de verificación, identificación y registro del mundo virtual. Algunas de sus aplicaciones son simples traslaciones de métodos que se desarrollan ya en otros soportes técnicos, pero la mayor parte aporta nuevas utilidades que pueden revolucionar el contexto tecnológico de la documentación científica. Se presenta un panorama actualizado de las iniciativas basadas en blockchain para la gestión de la documentación científica y tecnológica, destacando aquellos aspectos que hacen de esta nueva tecnología una herramienta diferenciada y auténticamente novedosa. Un análisis crítico con consideraciones teóricas y prácticas sobre su uso potencial completa el contenido de este trabajo.&lt;br /&gt;
