Abstract

Social networks are becoming overcrowded. Every day people share millions of files, videos and pictures, and the massive use of social networks is replacing other communications channels such as telephone, e-mail or sms. However, these networks are often used without knowing the possible repercussions. Gazela  is a platform with the aim to provide the general society and especially teenagers with the necessary tools to allow them to guarantee their privacy while using social networks. Gazela ’s activity is focused on three main elements: surveillance services, protection services and legal advising services.

Abstract

This paper focuses on the protection of virtual circuits (Label Switched Paths, LSPs) in a (G)MPLS (Generalised Multi-Protocol Label Switching) network. The proposed algorithm is designed to protect traffic with strong delay requirements such as EF (Expedited Forwarding) ordered aggregates in a DiffServ domain. For this type of application endto- end recovery schemes are usually considered to be far too slow. Local, fast-rerouting is the only solution which can compete with restoration times offered by SONET self-healing ring. However local restoration has a cost in terms of extra bandwidth consumed for the backup paths. Our scheme thus includes a sophisticated resource aggregation mechanism based on the concepts of "backup-backup aggregation" and "backupprimary aggregation". The path selection algorithm is also designed to efficiently reduce the resource usage. Moreover, when considering LSPs at different preemption levels, our algorithm is able to correctly calculate the amount of bandwidth that can be preempted despite the sharing of resource. We show that our approach, though local, can compete with the state-of-theart end-to-end recovery schemes in terms of resource reservation. The major contribution of our scheme, the "backup-primary aggregation", was then also used in the context of end-to-end recovery and improved its performance substantially. Peer reviewed

Abstract

Children live together consuming, producing, and sharing digital content. These are hypermediated communication actions typical of cyberculture, and require training in critical thinking that, even when minors receive it, is not always perceived as necessary, which can put the privacy of children at risk. This study focuses on analyzing the cyber skills of primary and high school students to act critically, and examines the level of conceptual, attitudinal, and procedural competence that children perceive they have acquired to access, consume, create, and share digital content on social media. The specific objective is to understand some of the components that may be related to young people’s perception of the training they have received, as well as whether there are differences in terms of their willingness to acquire training to protect themselves when creating and consuming digital content. To this end, a 25-item questionnaire on the knowledge, attitudes, and actions of young people was designed, validated, and administered to a sample of 417 Spanish students completing primary and high school education. The results obtained indicate that, at the conceptual level, there are no differences between the educational stages, while differences were found at the attitudinal and procedural levels. The two factors identified show that, although high school students have acquired certain critical and protective attitudes, they behave more riskily in their self-presentation and posts than primary school students when accessing, creating, and sharing digital content on social media, and that the training received and the willingness to learn about how to create and share were the differentiating variables for increased protection. We conclude that there is a need for introducing education specific to the critical analysis and self-protection of Internet use at the primary education level, as well as additional training that would help to avoid risky behavior during high school.

"jats:p"The target of analyse was to determine the exposure levels to the staff on the vessel and ensure adequate measures are in place to minimize the exposure when necessary. Noise levels through the vessel will be compared to the noise code detailed in section 2 of this report. The measurement data results obtained at this survey will be analysed against the codes, as shown below. In addition, the measurement result table has the readings from 2007 during sea trials at the shipyard, Brodogradilište d.o.o. – Split. The analyse is to measure the exposure levels, through the accommodation and machinery spaces to determine the risk to staff working in these areas as well as making recommendations that could reduce the exposure levels.
