Abstract

This article has a practical and orientative purpose: through the Catalan lexicographical production, it intro­duces a list of collections of idioms classified according to whether they incorporate with more or less intensity the reality of the idioms, in order to facilitate further investigations.

Abstract

In this paper a general analysis of the evolution and current State of modem Catalan lexicography is undertaken, which starts with the setting up of a catalogue of lexicographic publications from 1940 onwards. In addition to the quantitative analysis of published dictionaries the paper introduces a typology study in order to sort out the variety and richness of modem Catalan lexicography. In the paper relevant data is presented on the situation of Catalan lexicography with respect to the quantity of existing dictionaries, and also on the factors that have determined their variety. Finally it can serve to establish the bases to build a lexicographic plan that helps to fill the gaps and avoids the unnecessary repetitions, so that Catalan can be given the same lexicographic resorts that are available for other widespread languages.

Abstract

Aquest article passa revista a les principals obres lexicogràfiques sobre el català antic i presenta la figura de Lluís Faraudo de Saint-Germain, autor del «Vocabulari de la llengua catalana medieval». S’hi estudia amb un cert detall l’estructura i el contingut del «Vocabulari» i es mostra que és un repertori molt ampli, puix que comprèn obres literàries i igualment molts tractats científics, utilitaris, així com una abundosa documentació inèdita, treta de l’Arxiu de la Corona d’Aragó. Amb tot plegat es conclou que aquesta obra conté força lèxic no repertoriat fins ara.
