Abstract

The present document constitutes the Deliverable D5.5 “Interim Stakeholders Consultation report” in the framework of the ITD 4.7, WP5, Task 5.2 of Shift2MaaS project (S2R-OC-IP4-02-2018). The Shift2MaaS consortium identifies the importance of the participation and involvement of key stakeholders during all the phases of the project. More specifically, this deliverable provides: An explicit list of the stakeholders for the Stakeholder’s group in Chapter 5; A report on the stakeholder's workshop focused on MaaS organised by Shift2MaaS and other related projects (Chapter 6); Clarifications on the formation of the stakeholder’s group on a continuous basis within the lifetime of the project (Chapter 7). The work with Shift2MaaS stakeholders will be continued until the end of the project, so the outcomes of this work will be included in D5.6 Final Stakeholders consultation report and additional use-cases.

Abstract

This paper is based on a Mobility as a Service (MaaS) project, Mobility as a Service for Linking Europe"br" (MAASiFiE), conducted for the Conference of European Directors of Roads (CEDR). MaaS is an emerging"br" concept aiming to offer user-oriented, multimodal transport services on a one-stop-shop principle utilizing"br" digitalization and mobile applications. This paper presents the main result of the project: the European MaaS"br" Roadmap 2025 defining short- (1-3 years) and medium-term (4-9 years) actions and transitions needed to reach"br" the vision formed in the project. The Roadmap is divided into four functional perspectives: drivers, markets, MaaS"br" services and enablers. Furthermore, each perspective presents the results using the following classification:"br" Academy and R&D, Business, Infrastructure & built environment, Policy & regulation, Technology & data, and"br" Social & culture. This paper concentrates on Policy & regulation aspects, as well as on the role of National Road"br" Administrations (NRAs) in MaaS development.

Abstract

Social media offers a wealth of mobility-related information and an ultimate instrument for day-to-day traffic management road operators activities. The social community approach presented in this paper (Social Traffic Management) offers a personalised traffic information service and traffic management platform, which is based on mainstream social media, and aims to best match demand and supply with the intent to improve travellers’ comfort in a multi-modal environment, while contributing to road operators and public authorities’ goals. This paper describes the Social Traffic Management approach, the traveller experience and discusses the symbiosis between traffic management and mobility-as-a-service (MaaS). It also gives an insight in how this approach is being tested within the H2020 MyCorridor and CEF Socrates 2.0 projects.

Abstract

This paper addresses the convergence of two major trends in the transportation world, namely MaaS (“Mobility as a Service”) and TM2.0 (“cooperation between traffic managers and service providers”); the specific case study described is MyCorridor project."br" The paper claims that TM2.0 is an effective enabler of MaaS and vice versa, we demonstrate that MaaS world could become an enabler for TM2.0. This will be evaluated in MyCorridor EC-funded project. MyCorridor is approaching the MaaS concept by addressing those services that are connected to the vehicle world, with the primary aim to stimulate travellers to shift from private vehicle ownership to sharing economy concept (car sharing, bicycle sharing, public transport and para transit). It extends the TM2.0 concept by providing a solution that incorporates multi-modal, seamless, flexible, reliable, user-friendly, all inclusive, price-worthy and environmentally sustainable travel at cities, regions and cross-border.

Abstract

Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) is a service that supports customers’ transportation needs by providing information and ticketing for a multitude of transport modes in one interface; thus, buy potentially fostering multimodality and public transport, it represents an important lever to reduce negative transportation impacts such as emissions and congestion. By means of an online survey conducted in Switzerland, we try to understand potential user needs as well as factors that would motivate the use of MaaS. Comparing the openness to use MaaS for specific trip purposes like commuting and leisure activities, we find the lowest level of openness for commuting and the highest for weekend leisure trips. Intention to reduce car usage was positively related to openness to MaaS in commuting. On the other hand, factors that positively influence openness to using MaaS for leisure activities include a higher education degree, experience with carsharing and the use of transport-related climate policy announcements directly affecting consumers. These findings suggest focusing specifically on either commuting or leisure activities when designing policy measures. ISSN:1867-0717 ISSN:1866-8887 Document type: Article
