Abstract

The rise of the internet and its services is leading to a change in users’ habits and information requests; libraries and information centres should propose new strategies to capture them. This text describes the so-called “digital natives”, those who have been surrounded by technology since birth and process information differently than their predecessors, the digital immigrants, as well as some initiatives that show perspectives and needs related to social structure in the medium term in libraries.
