It is clearly oriented towards an international audience and receives collaborations in both English and Spanish, with authors, reviewers and collaborators in general, from all regions and with a great diversity of approaches.

Enfoque UTE firmly believes in the free dissemination of scientific knowledge, which is why it guarantees that its content and its services in general will be totally free for readers, authors and the general public.

In its 11 years of life, the magazine has published more than 300 engineering research papers, serving more than 800 authors. All this has been achieved thanks to the selfless participation of its team of editors, reviewers and contributors, as well as the permanent support of the Universidad UTE, which funds the activities of the journal.

Enfoque UTE is registered and indexed in several of the main international databases such as Web Of Science (ESCI), Redalyc, Scielo, REDIB, Latindex, DOAJ, OAJI, MIAR, Periódica, BibLat, Google Scholar, among many others.

The journal welcomes contributions that present high-quality experiments with particular attention to the reproducibility of the results. The papers must have a detailed and complete description of the experimental set-up and should include dispersion or uncertainty assessment information. They should also be completed with the datasets of the presented results in standard editable format.

Papers that focus on validation must involve assessment of computational models through comparison to experiments and should be accompanied by relevant measures of uncertainty from both sources. These papers should also include code verification, i.e. the assurance that code outputs converge to analytical solutions, particularly in terms of the rate of reduction of discretization errors.

Issue Introduction: With the rapid advancement of aerospace, automotive, and civil engineering sectors, there is an urgent demand for reliable numerical tools in solid mechanics. Serving as a bridge connecting theory and practice, these methods underpin the core research directions of the field. They enable the quantification and optimization of material constitutive relationships, drive the topology design and performance simulation of lightweight lattice structures, and accurately capture the static/dynamic behaviors and failure mechanisms of thin-walled structures. For composite materials, numerical methods facilitate structural mechanics analysis, vibration control, and noise reduction research. They also accelerate the design and validation of metamaterials, overcoming the limitations of traditional approaches. Essentially, these numerical methods advance key research areas, fueling engineering innovation and the advancement of low-carbon technologies.

Aim and Scope: This Special Issue highlights cutting-edge research achievements, innovative numerical methodologies, and engineering applications in solid mechanics. Focusing on the intersection of numerical algorithms, material science, and engineering design, it integrates advances in simulation technology with practical engineering requirements. It aims to establish a high-level academic platform for global researchers and engineers, facilitating in-depth discussions on key scientific issues and technical bottlenecks, and further advancing the development and industrialization of related technologies.

The goal of the repository is to widely disseminate the results of the research performed at CIMNE, by sharing the preprints or postprints -depending on the article sharing policies of the original publisher- of the papers published in scientific journals by CIMNE's scientists.

The conference is one of the Thematic Conferences of the European Community on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences (ECCOMAS) and a Special Interest Conference of the International Association for Computational Mechanics (IACM). It is also supported by other scientific organizations in Europe and worldwide.

A special issue of Mathematical and Computational Applications journal will be finalized at the end of the conference. Contributions will be by invitation

The main goal of ADMOS 2021 is to provide a forum for presenting and discussing the current state-of-the-art achievements on Adaptive Modeling and Simulation, including theoretical models, numerical methods, algorithmic strategies and challenging engineering applications.

ADMOS 2021 is jointly organized by Chalmers University of Technology, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and CIMNE and it is promoted by the European Committee in Solids and Structural Mechanics (ECSSM) of ECCOMAS. ADMOS is one of the conferences that launched the ECCOMAS series of thematic conferences. The previous editions were held successively in Göteborg in 2003, Barcelona in 2005, Göteborg in 2007, Bruxelles in 2009, Paris in 2011, Lisbon in 2013, Nantes in 2015, in Verbania, Italy in 2017 and in El Campello (Alicante) in 2019.

El alcance de esta publicación comprende los sistemas de ingeniería que dan apoyo y sirven para el diseño de la infraestructura civil, y a los desastres naturales y accidentes de origen humano que pueden afectar esa infraestructura. La revista publica contribuciones que se refieran a la conjunción de más de una de las áreas temáticas definidas en el título, o a una de ellas. El término infraestructura civil se usa aquí para designar al conjunto de instalaciones físicas que permiten movilizar o almacenar bienes, materias primas, agua, residuos, energía, información o personas. En general, se incluyen aquí puentes, puertos, canales, aeropuertos, ferrocarriles, sistemas de tránsito urbano, carreteras, líneas de comunicación y energía, tuberías, represas, plantas de tratamiento de aguas, tanques, silos, etc. El énfasis en desastres naturales está en el estudio de acciones de huracanes, tornados, terremotos, inundaciones, sequías, fuego, deslizamientos, y otros. Asimismo la revista publica temas relacionados con accidentes y eventos producidos por causas humanas, incluyendo fallas por diseño o construcción, colisiones con vehículos, explosiones, entre otras.
