Evaluation of 50 km/hr general urban speed limit : case study of Unley of South Australia /

Abstract

Thesis (MEng(TransportSystemsEng))--University of South Australia, 2004. In this study, daily travel patterns, vehicle volumes, and speeds, of the vehicles both before the change of the speed limit and after the change of the speed limit are studied. For this three collector streets Duthy, Leah and George Street are taken as a case study. All the study streets are situated in the City of Unley, which has been trying to reduce the speed limits in local residential streets from 1992, and successfully implemented the 40-km/hr speed limits onlocal residential streets in 1999.
