Abstract

This work is focused on the comparison of two numerical schemes for the resolution of the transport general equation. A Finite lrolume linear scheme, coupled with a time O-discretization is shown, which control function is a spline linear. The stability of the scheme for different frequencies is analysed by rnearis of the Fourier method. It can be concluded that, for certain 19 values, the stability domain in a Peclet-Courant plane is broader than that of the linear Finite Element scheme. Moreover, there are some areas in the Peclet-Courant plane in which the Finite Volume scheme has a better behaviour. The infinity-norm, the relative 2-norm and the relative 1-norm of the difference vector betwen the exact and the approximate solution are evaluated, according to both schemes, in master examples resolution, which analytical solution is known.
