Abstract

In this paper, multigrid methods applied to linear elastic problems are presented, taking two and three dimensional examples modelled by non-structured and no-nested meshes. Generally, the multigrid methods have been used with nested meshes which simplify the transfer operators. However, to model engineering problems non-structured meshes are more suitable. Comparisons with direct and iterative methods are presented, extending the results indicated in.
