Currently, I am full professor of shipbuilding technology at the Higher Technical School of Naval Architects and Offshore Engineers (ETSIN) of the Technical University of Madrid and the Deputy Director of Institutional Relations.

I conduct my research in collaboration with the Model Basin Research Group at ETSIN (CEHINAV) and the International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE). My research career has focused on developing computational models for fluid-structure interaction analysis and their application to the design and verification of ships, platforms, and marine structures.

I am the author of more than 35 articles published in first-tier international journals, have presented over 80 papers at international conferences, and have participated in more than 25 European or international research projects.

Additionally, I have been the promoter and co-founder of Compass IS, a company specializing in engineering design, and Scipedia, the developer of the platforms Scipedia.com and BIM TeamUp.

1994-2001: Studies of Civil Engineering (Bachelor and Master Degree) at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC).

2001-2004: Project engineer at Pedelta S.L. Role as main project engineer in the design of bridges, footbridges and other special structures.

2004-2008: Doctoral studies in the Structural Analysis program of the Strength of Materials and Structural Engineering Department, of the UPC. These studies were conducted with a fellowship provided by the International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE).

2008: Dissertation of the PhD: “Micro-mechanical simulation of composite materials using the serial/parallel mixing theory” supervised by Dr. Sergio Oller.

2008-2009: Visiting scientist and Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) department of the West Virginia University (WVU). The main task conducted in this period is the coordination of the “Resilient Tunnel Project” sponsored by Homeland Security (budget > $5,000,000)

2009-2014: Visiting professor at the Science and Nautical Engineering Department (DCEN) of the UPC. The teaching activity is conducted at the School of Nautical Studies (FNB) and at the School of Civil Engineering (ETSECCPB).

2012: Research stay at the MAE department of WVU

2013-17: Vice-dean Director of Studies at the FNB

2014: Contracted as Visiting lecturer at DCEN

2015: Board member of the Spanish Association of Composite Materials (AEMAC)

2017: Editor of the scientific journal Materiales Compuestos (Composite Materials) edited by AEMAC.

2018: Contracted as associate professor at DCEN

2019: Coordinator of the Master's program on Naval and Ocean Engineering

Currently working in three european projects related to composite materials: Fibre4Yards, Fibregy and Acasisas. In the former one acting as PI of the whole project.

Scientific production:

27 papers published in indexed journals (21 of them in Q1). 4 papers in non-indexed journals. 8 books and book chapters. More than 50 contributions to national and international conferences.

H-Index of 11, according to Scopus Database.

Research projects:

Participation in 1 research project in the United States, 9 European projects, 6 national (Spanish) projects, 1 project in collaboration between WVU and CIMNE and 6 projects for the industry.

Editor of 1 scientific journal and reviewer of 9 scientific journals. Co-Chair of two editions of the European Confernece on Multifunctional Structures (EMuS).
