Head of Technical Cabinet in the Generalitat of Catalonia, deputy director in the Ministry of Health, and self-employed professional consulting for international organizations in different countries until his incorporation as a professor at UPF at its inaugural moment in 1990.

Ex-president of the Spanish Society of Public Health and Health Administration (SESPAS), ex-president of the Asociación de Economía de la Salud (AES), ex-secretary of the European Public Health Association, meritorious member of CAMFiC, Josep Trueta Medal for Health Merit, academic of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Catalonia and Honorary Member of the Health Economics Association.
